Centre is constantly monitoring the commencement of the annual pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Shrine. It is also reviewing the security situation related to this Yatra.The Ministry of Home Affairs in its statement on Monday said that Government is aware of the concerns of the pilgrims for the timely commencement of the annual pilgrimage to the Shri Amarnath Shrine and all necessary steps are being taken in this regard.The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Mr N.N Vohra on Monday reviewed the arrangements at the base camp of the yatra.Earlier he directed the authorities to take necessary steps to ensure that the Yatra commenced on time.Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier made an aerial visit on 4th and 5th of this month of the pilgrimage route and at that point the route was covered in snow in various places.
