The Centre has released an additional amount of over one thousand one hundred crore rupees for construction of roads in naxal-affected districts in six states under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. These states include West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh. Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh has also written to Chief Ministers of these states informing them about the amount. Odisha has been given the highest allocation of 348 crore rupees followed by Andhra Pradesh with 265 crore rupees and West Bengal with 180 crore rupees.
