Centre releases nearly Rs 7400 Cr to States, UTs under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in last 3 financial years

<span style="color: #222222;">The Central Government has released nearly seven thousand 400 crore rupees to states and union territories under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in the last 3 financial years. The Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2018. The scheme, which is the world's largest health care programme, provides a cover of up to five lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to around ten crore 74 lakh poor and vulnerable families. The beneficiary families under the scheme are identified from the Socio-Economic Caste Census of 2011 on the basis of select deprivation and occupational criteria across rural and urban areas. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pawar said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.</span><br />
