The Centre has released grant in aid worth of nearly 100 crore rupees as first instalment to the Madhya Pradesh Rural Roads Development Agency, MPRRDA for the construction of Rural Roads in the State under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, PMGSY. According to the Ministry of Rural Development, the grant is towards plan expenditure and will accordingly be subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines for PMGSY issued from time to time by the Central Government. It is a hundred per cent centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country.
