The Centre has released a grant of 30 crore rupees for construction of rural roads in Rajasthan under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, PMGSY. The Ministry of Rural Development said in a statement, the amount is a part payment of the World Bank-aided projects under the scheme to Rajasthan Rural Roads Development Agency. PMGSY is a 100 per cent centrally-sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country. It envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 people and above in the rural areas and for places with a population of 250 and above in hill states, tribal areas and deserts.
