Centre releases 250cr for Saranda Action Plan in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh on Monday released funds of 250 crores rupees for ‘Saranda Action Plan’.

The Action Plan which was prepared after recovering the area from the Maoists last year, targets 900 square Kilometers of the Saranda forest range in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

Mr. Ramesh today visited Deegha area of the range and laid foundation of Indira Awas Yojna and two roads under ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna’. Mr. Ramesh interacted with the local tribals there and urged them to participate in political affairs of the country.

The Minister later returned to Ranchi to hold discussions with the Chief Minister. Speaking to the media, Mr Ramesh said that Maoists will be defeated with development, security and political participations of the people.
