Centre releases 142 cr grant to four states under PMGSY

The Centre has released grant in aid worth over 142 crore rupees to four states for the construction of rural roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana(PMGSY). According to the Ministry of Rural Development, out of these, about 45 crore rupees have been provided to Uttarakhand, nearly 37 crore rupees to Punjab while Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan received 30 crore rupees each. PMGSY is a hundred per cent centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country.
