Centre rejects BJP demand for recall of Karnataka Governor

The Centre's decision to reject Governor H.R. Bharadwaj recommendation to invoke article 356 in Karnataka has ended the week-long political uncertainty in the State. AIR correspondent reports, that however the State BJP has decided to stick to its demand for the recall of the Governor. The State Party President K.S. Eeshwarappa said that the Governor should resign with dignity instead of waiting till being recalled. The Centre's rejection of Bhardwaj's report is the second such in seven months. The Centre had rejected his advice for imposition of President's Rule on the State, on October 11, 2010, soon after the Chief Minister won the trust vote in the Legislative Assembly.
