Centre has refused to set up a Special Investigation Team, SIT to probe the alleged PDS rice scam in Chhattisgarh. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said Economic Offences Investigation and the state Anti-corruption Bureau have already taken necessary action. The two anti corruption agencies conducted raids last February in different districts and registered a case in the matter. <br/><br/>The Minister further said that the matter pertains to the state government and is currently sub judice. Congress has demanded resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh for his alleged connection with the 36,000-crore rupee scam for supplying rice through public distribution system.
