Government says, it is providing all material support to Jammu and Kashmir to deal with flood situation in the State.

Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth on Sunday said that more boats, tents, blankets and medicines are being provided.

Talking to a private TV channel in New Delhi, he said, additional NDRF teams along with boats have been rushed to the State.

Mr Seth said, 130 columns of Army are working across the State in relief and rescue operations.

The Cabinet Secretary said, as per the Met Department, weather has improved a bit in the State which will help in relief and rescue operations.

He said clear weather conditions have been predicted for the coming days.

Asked about the possibility of water-borne diseases in Jammu region, Mr Seth said, all measures are being taken to make available medicines.

He said, people are being sensitized about steps needed to prevent outbreak of such diseases.
