Centre provides Rs 1000 cr as advance to flood-hit Andhra

The Centre has provided 1000 crore rupees as advance to Andhra Pradesh to meet the challenges of the flood fury. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, a short while ago, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said that money will not be a constraint to undertake the relief, rescue and rehabilitation measures. He said, central government will stand behind the affected states in meeting the green challenges of unprecedented floods. He also asked the state government to present a detailed report about the ground situation to help the people effectively. Describing the flood as a national calamity, the Prime Minister said the central government always stands ready to help the affected states in such situations. He said there would be no discrimination on political grounds.
