Centre is giving importance and laying special emphasis on providing ample opportunities to the meritorious students for pursuing their research in India instead of going abroad – said the Union HRD Minister, Smriti Irani. Speaking on the fourth convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) at Mohanpur near Kalyani in Nadia, Minister said, the students and researchers can avail themselves of the opportunities of study and research facilities .She said, the National Ranking Framework introduced by the Government, for rankings of higher educational institutes in the country will have a separate set of parameters for IISERs from the next academic year. She said that IISERs have contributed significantly in the study of basic sciences within a very short period.
