In Uttar Pradesh, the Centre has provided financial assistance to 65 more farmers belonging to Bhatta Parsaul villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar district injured during police-farmers clash. The Prime Minister had announced financial relief to the affected farmers during the farmers’ agitation on land acquisition. Our Lucknow correspondent reports that they have been financial assistance on the recommendation of National Human Rights Commission, National Women Commission and National Commission for Scheduled Caste which had paid visit to the village and recorded the statements of farmers. Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pradeep Jain has visited the villages and disbursed 50,000 rupees each to 16 farmers injured seriously clashes during agitation against land acquisition. He has given 10 thousand rupees each to 49 other farmers received normal injuries. The Earlier, 110 farmers were given relief by the Centre from Prime Minister's relief fund. Meanwhile, in an effort to highlight the plight of farmers in the state, the Congress has announced to organize a Kisan Panchayat this month at Bhatta Parsaul. The state congress has called a meeting of its leader today at Lucknow to review the preparations for the proposed Kisan Panchayat.
