Centre is providing financial and technical assistance to States governments and specialized institutions to protect migratory birds. According to official sources , several steps are being taken for the protection of migratory birds.

They include stringent punishment under the Wild Life Protection Act to those who violate the provisions of the Act. Government is also conducting various studies for monitoring populations of important birds and species and their habitat.
