The Centre proposes to release 48,000 crore rupees in the next five years to develop 100 Smart Cities in the country under Smart Cities Mission. Presently, 20 Smart Cities are progressing. <br/><br/>Stating this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said, 612 projects have been identified amounting to a little over 34,200 crore rupees out of which some projects have been completed and work on 28 projects started.
