The Centre is planning to raise the reservation from three per cent to five per cent for persons with disabilities in government jobs. Addressing the 2nd National Conference on Disability in New Delhi today, Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Lov Verma said, government is going to amend The Persons with Disability Act-1995 and the matter will go the Union Cabinet very soon. <br/><br/>He said, the Ministry is also planning to raise the number of criteria for disabled persons to nineteen. These include muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, Thalassemia and sickle-cell anaemia. Presently there is seven criteria for person with disabilities.
