The Centre has given the nod for trifurcation of Municipal Corporation of Delhi . According to official sources, Union Home Minister Mr P. Chidambaram has signed the file which had been sent for seeking approval in this regard.According to the proposal, there will be a separate municipal authority for East, South and North in the national capital. However, the total number of municipal wards will continue to remain 272.Sources said Delhi Cabinet will meet tomorrow to decide when to convene a session of the Delhi Assembly where a Bill for trifurcating the MCD will be placed.
