The Centre has approved the three proposals related to the extension of Delhi Metro Phase-3.
The decision to this effect was taken at meeting in New Delhi by the Empowered Group of Ministers -EGoM on Mass Rapid Transit System. According to a release issued by the Urban Develoment Ministry, the approved proposals include a 5.5 kilometre Metro connection from Dwarka to Najafgarh, around 3 kilometre extension of Mukundpur-Yamuna Vihar metro line to Shiv Vihar and over 11 kilometer extension of Delhi Metro from Mundka to Bahadurgarh, in Haryana.
Dwarka to Najafgarh extension will cost at 1070 crore rupees, while Mukundpur-Yamuna Vihar to Shiv Vihar line will cost at around 281 crore rupees and the estimated cost of extension from Mundka to Bahadurgarh will be 1991 crore rupees.
