<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre is not considering any proposal to provide mandatory on the spot third-party insurance cover for motor vehicle owners in the country. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad said according to Transport Ministry the total estimated vehicle fleet is 30 crore 48 lakh excluding data from Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. He said out this 16 crore 54 lakh vehicles are uninsured.</span><br />
