The West Bengal Government has demanded that Centre should introduce single rate system of essential commodities throughout the country.<br/><br/>Addressing a public rally organized by the All India Bidi Workers Federation in Kolkata on Thursday, the Chief Minister, Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharjee expressed concern over the soaring prices of essential items and urged the centre to take effective steps to redress the hardship of common men. <br/><br/>Referring to the problems of Bidi workers, Mr. Bhattacharjee stressed the need for increasing daily wages and introduction of identity cards for them. The State Labour Minister, Mr Anadi Sahoo also addressed the rally.
