The government is constantly monitoring the situation in all the Left Wing Extremism affected States.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Jitendra Singh said that the Central Armed Police Force Battalions are inducted in these States to assist State Police forces in anti-naxal operations.
This has been done as per requirement projected by the affected States and the availability of forces with the Central government.
He said, at present, 71 Battalions of Central Armed Police Forces, one Nagaland India Reserve Battalions and nine Commando Battalions for Resolute Action are deployed in naxal affected states to assist State police forces in anti-naxal operations.
