Union minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram today said the centre is keen to solve the problem of Maoism through socio- economic development of the tribal areas. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference at Bastar divisional head quarters of Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh, he appealed to the Maoists to shun violence and return to political mainstream. He said it has been established beyond doubt that ballot is more powerful than bullets.<br/><br/>The Union Minister is in tribal Bastar region as part of "Vikas Parv" being organised to highlight NDA government's achievements coinciding with its completion of two years in power. <br/><br/>Referring to the direct benefit transfer scheme, Oram said it has helped to check leakages in subsidies and ensured that benefits of various schemes percolated down to the masses.
