Minister of State for Defence M. M. Pallam Raju says, the Centre is keen to meet the needs of the ex- servicemen. It is particular about their resettlement, pension and medical care. The facilities being provided to the ex -service men and widows of the army men came up prominently for discussion with the office bearers of the army welfare department and offices in Shimla today.
During his day long trip to Shimla, he visited Army Training Command, Army Welfare Sainik Office and Deepak Project of Border Road Organisation, BRO to review their functioning. He also had meeting with the office bearers of the State Army Welfare Department, District Army Welfare office and the State Army Welfare Directorate in Shimla. He said the government wants to strengthen the army institutions like Sainik schools in the state to enable more students from the state to join the army in commissioned ranks.
