Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde reiterated that the Centre is keen to introduce National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) to firmly deal with terrorism.
After a meeting with the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Frasergunj in South 24 Parganas district of the State, Mr. Shinde said that he had taken up the issue once again with Ms. Banerjee and she has a positive mind towards it.
The Home Minister said that the Chief Ministers' of some states earlier objected on certain issues of the NCTC and it will be implemented when consensus will emerge.
Mr. Shinde also discussed with the West Bengal Chief Minister the coastal security of the riverine Indo- Bangladesh border in the Sunderbans.
