Centre, Jharkhand closely monitors progress of Saranda Action Plan

The Central and the Jharkhand governments are closely monitoring the progress of Saranda Action Plan. It was initiated after the mineral rich forest area was cleared off of the Maoists.

Government security forces have already consolidated its position well after setting up camps in the thick forest area with a aim to provide security cover to the local population and developmental initiatives. This has boosted the road construction works in the area. Also the Saranda Action Plan targets of distribution of Solar Lamps, Bicycles and Transistors to all the 7000 families of the region is near completion. Also the work of providing Indira Awas to all the BPL families of the region has seen great progress. In addition to these, the Central PSU -Steel Authority of India- SAIL has been asked to help in the construction of Integrated Developmental Centres under its Corporate Social Responsibility activities. The Development Centre would have PDS Shops, Health Sub-Sectors, Agriculture Information Centres, Bank and Post Office apart from Market and Godowns under round the clock CRPF security cover. There are proposals to construct a total of 10 such Integrated Development Centres at a cost of Rs. 5 crore each.
