Centre issues necessary advisories to states to control disturbances in the name of cow protection: MoS Home

The Government told the Lok Sabha today that maintaining law and order and protection of life and property is solely the responsibility of the concerned state governments.<br/><br/>In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said, it is their job to protect life and property in mob attacks on cattle traders, beef eaters, dairy farmers and killing of people in the name of cow protection. <br/><br/>He said, all state governments are competent to deal with such offences under the prevailing law. The Centre has issued necessary advisories to the states to control disturbances by miscreants in the name of protecting cows. <br/><br/>The Minister added that the states and Union Territories have been asked to compulsorily register FIRs for cognizable offences.
