Central grants worth 1500 crore rupees have been issued to over 60 tribal and backward districts of the country in the current financial year.The grants issued by Ministry of Panchayati Raj are aimed at quick resolution of problems concerning healthcare, drinking water, education and roads in these regions. According to an official release the grants have been issued under the Integrated Action Plan which commenced in November last year to give a fillip to development schemes in tribal and backward regions especially those affected by the naxal Violence.
