In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Centre has issued an advisory for senior citizens asking them to stay at home, avoid visitors and remain active within the home by doing light exercise and yoga. They have also been advised not to visit hospitals for regular check-ups, instead using telemedicine if possible. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' In order to maintain their mental well-being during the lockdown, senior citizens have been advised to communicate with relatives and neighbours while maintaining social distancing, rediscovering old hobbies and accessing reliable information. The advisory issued by the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry said that seniors should not confine themselves their rooms. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' They should also not follow sensational news or social media posts and not spread or share any unverified news or information further. The senior citizens have also been asked to maintain hygiene, ensure proper nutrition and take prescribed medicine regularly. Social Justice and Empowerment Secretary, R. Subrahmanyam has written to Chief secretaries of all States to publicise the advisory in all districts.&nbsp;<br />'' &nbsp;<br />
