Centre issues advisories to States to ensure availability of drugs, Diagnostic Kits to deal with Swine Flu

The Centre has issued advisories to States to ensure availability of drugs and Viral Diagnostic Kits to deal with the any outbreak of H1NI influenza also known as Swine Flu. <br/>The Health Ministry advisory came in the wake of the reported cases of the disease in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Telangana. <br/>Health Minsiter J P Nadda had recently reviewed the preparedness of states at a high level meeting to address and manage Swine Flu. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the Ministry has also called for a status report from the States on their preparedness to deal with the H1NI influenza by Saturday.<br/><br/>In its advisory, the Centre has asked the States to ensure availability of sufficient isolation facilities to manage critical respiratory emergencies. <br/><br/>The States have been advised to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to prevent morbidity and mortality due to this H1N1 Virus.<br/><br/>According to the advisory, the impact of seasonal influenza activity can be mitigated by simple public health measures like frequent washing of hands, respiratory etiquettes, avoiding crowded places and maintaining distance from those affected from flu like symptoms. <br/><br/>The Centre has assured to provide all assistance to the States in their efforts in tackling the disease.
