Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal has said that the Centre has initiated several legislative proposals for the education sector.
Addressing fourth convocation of National Law Institute University in Bhopal last evening, he said that the passage of these bills will lead to qualitative and quantitative growth of higher education in the country.
These bills include a bill to prohibit and punish unfair practices in Technical and Medical Institutions and Universities, a Bill to provide for Mandatory Accreditation of all Higher Educational Institutions, a Bill to regulate the entry and operation of Foreign Educational Institutions in India.
Mr. Sibal said that the legal profession is becoming highly competitive and foreign lawyers and law firms are waiting for the legislative signal to enter into India.
