<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre has said it is committed to improving sports infrastructure in the country, in coordination with all the state governments.<br />''<br />'' Responding to queries during Question Hour in Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik said the Centre has sought details from the states about the existing sports infrastructure. He said proposals to develop the sports facilities further or to establish new and modern facilities have also been solicited. He further said 2965 sportspersons in the country are being provided financial assistance of ten thousand rupees a month besides access to several sports facilities. He said the proactive steps taken by the Government have resulted in a record number of medals in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.</span><br />
