The Union Minister for agriculture and farmers' welfare Sudarshan Bhagat today said the central government has given utmost importance on agriculture and rural development. Addressing a gathering after unveiling plaque of foundation stone for ICAR Seed Hub at Lembucherra near Agartala today, he said many pro-farmer measures have been formulated by the Centre for the welfare of farmers and enhancement of crops production including allied sector.<br/><br/>Referring to the creation of the ICAR Seed Hub at Lembucherra, Mr. Bhagat made an appeal to ensure closer interaction and exchange of ideas among farmers and agricultural scientists for increased and quality production of crops. ICAR officials said, with the objective of increasing indigenous production of pulses, the project of creating 93 seed hubs across the country has been mooted by the Ministry of agriculture.
