The Centre has communicated to states the two borrowing options to meet the GST Compensation requirement for the current financial year. This follows discussions in the 41st Meeting of the GST Council held on Thursday. The states are to communicate their preference within seven working days.

An official release said, a meeting of State Finance Secretaries with the Union Finance Secretary and Secretary (Expenditure) is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, for clarifying any issues in this regard.
