A Centre for North Eastern Culture aimed at promoting the rich and diverse cultural heritage and tradition of the North Eastern States was inaugurated in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The setting up of the Centre is in line with the direction given by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to give proper platform to showcase the customs and beliefs of the North Eastern States.

The Centre was inaugurated jointly by the Culture and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister, Kumari Selja and Minister for the Development of North East Region Mr Paban Singh Ghatowar.
