Centre extends ceasefire with NDFB by six months

Centre has decided to extend ceasefire with the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) by six months. Home ministry sources said that the ceasefire scheduled to expire this evening, has now been extended up to 31st of December. NDFB is holding tripartite talks with the Centre and the government of Assam for lasting peace in the North Eastern State. The outfit announced a unilateral ceasefire in 2004 after signing a tripartite agreement with the centre and government of Assam. Sources said that the ceasefire will help continue the talks.
