The Centre has empowered the States to take appropriate action to curb the diversion of fertilizers. They have been asked to initiate action against the violators. Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya stated this in the Lok Sabha today. He said the Centre monitors the movement of all subsidized fertilizers across the country by an online web-based system. The gap between demand and indigenous production is met by imports.
