The Centre on Thursday announced doubling of funds allocation under a special plan for Bihar to 2,000 crore rupees for the current fiscal. The decision to enhance allocation was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA in Delhi on Thursday morning. The money available to the state in the next fiscal, the last year of the 11th five year plan, will be 1,468 crore rupees. The special plan is being funded under the Backward Regions Grant Fund on 100 per cent grant basis.The CCEA also approved budgetary support of about 70 crore rupees for 10 sick and loss-making Central Public Sector Enterprises for payment of employees' statutory dues like gratuity,provident fund,insurance and bonus. The funds will be used for clearing employees' dues from April-June,2010 for the CPSEs under the Department of Heavy Industry.
