Centre directs Punjab and Haryana to make use of Calamity Relief Fund

Centre has directed the states of Punjab and Haryana to make use of the balances at their disposal under the Calamity Relief Fund and initiate immediate restoration and relief operations following the floods. <br/><br/>According to an official release, the two states have ample amount of funds available under the relief fund. While Haryana has over 1151 crore rupees, Punjab has more than 2316 crore rupees as balance. The states have been asked to send a memorandum indicating the total assessed damage to the Central Government to assist a case for additional assistance from the Centre.
