Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has claimed that the Centre did not object to the steps taken by his Government for the release of Malkangiri collector R Vineel Krishna and junior engineer Pabitra Mohan Majhi from captivity of the Maoists.He was reacting to media reports that the Centre was not happy with the Odisha Government striking a deal with the Maoists for the release of the two officials, especially freeing some top dreaded Maoist leaders from jail.Naveen Patnaik told the media persons at Bhubaneswar on Saturday that his Government took the right decision on the abduction issue after considering all aspects. The Odisha Chief Minister also said Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had also spoken to him once after the abduction of Malkangiri collector and junior engineer and expressed concern over the safety of the two officials.
