The centre has convened an all party meeting tomorrow to discuss the situation in Jammu Kashmir. It also reiterated its intention to restart the process of dialogue with different sections of the people in the state saying that this can address issues of trust deficit and governance deficit. An official release issued after a Cabinet Committee on Security, CCS meeting in New Delhi last evening also expressed distress over the turn of events in the valley since Eid and expressed profound grief at the loss of life. While reiterating that discussion is the only way forward to find an honourable and lasting solution, the CCS said that dialogue can embrace all the issues that agitate the mind of the people in the state especially the youth. The government also expressed hope that following the all party meet, it would be able to engage the people of the state and take certain initiatives and measures that will build confidence among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The CCS chaired by the Prime Minister appealed to the people in the state especially the youth to refrain from violent protest and maintain peace and order. It said that every life that is lost and every person who is injured adds to the complexity of the situation besides causing immense grief. The Committee expressed hope that the people of the state will heed this appeal and cooperate with the government in its efforts to ensure justice, dignity, honour and peace in the state.
