Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar has said that the centre is confident that it can conserve its rich biodiversity while ensuring development.<br/><br/>Mr. Javadekar was speaking at a special program to celebrate the international day for biological diversity celebration at Yashwant Rao Chavan auditorium, Mumbai today.<br/><br/>He said that it is a myth that conservation and development can't co-exist. He also said that there is a need for a people's campaigning for biodiversity conservation.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion Maharshra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao asks corporates to have biodiversity conservation as a component of their CSR activities.<br/><br/>While, Indian Institute for Science Professor Dr. Sukumar has said that India conservation and livelihood.<br/><br/>This year's theme for International Biodiversity Day was "Mainstreaming Biodiversity: Sustaining People and their Livelihoods"<br/><br/>On the occasion India Biodiversity were presented in the areas of ecological conservation, sustainable use, and benefit sharing and biodiversity management.<br/><br/>Dr. B Meenakumari Chairperson national biodiversity authority was also present on the occasion.
