Centre committed to strengthen State level Hospitals: Azad

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that the Centre is committed to strengthen the State level Hospitals to bring these at par with the reputed health institutions of the country.<br/><br/>Mr. Azad was addressing a high level meeting at Super Specialty Hospital in Jammu day, convened to review the pace of progress on construction of the upcoming Institution being constructed at a cost of 138 crore rupees, under Pradhan Mantri Swasthiya Suraksha Yojna.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports, Mr. Azad expressed satisfaction over the pace of work and desired that the Central Public Works Department should put in best efforts to complete the project a month ahead of the targeted date of June 30.<br/><br/>He also appreciated the steps taken by the State Government for filling up the vacancies of Specialists and Super Specialists for the upcoming health institution. He directed for recruitment of doctors on contractual basis in the first instance and meanwhile, refer the posts to Public Service Commission for permanent recruitment.<br/><br/>He also asked the concerned officers to arrange short term refresher courses for the doctors in country’s premier institutions to acquaint them with latest trends in medical sciences.
