Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that the Central Government is committed to strengthen the state level hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir at par with the reputed health institutions of the country. While addressing a high level meeting at Super Specilality Hospital being constructed at the cost of 138 Crore rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthiya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) at Jammu today, the Union Health Minister directed that Central Public Works Department should endeavour to complete the project one month ahead of the targeted time of June 30 this year. Mr Azad also directed the concerned state authorities to recruit the doctors on the contractual basis in the first instance and meanwhile refer the same to State Public Service Commission (PSC) for permanent recruitment and asked to arrange short term refresher courses for the doctors in country's premier institutions to acquaint them with latest trends in medical sciences.
