Centre committed to construct better quality sturdy roads : Gadkari

Union minister for roadways Nitin Gadkari has said that the central government is committed for constructing better quality sturdy roads in all regions of the country. Mr. Gadkari yesterday inaugurated the four laning of the Amravati-Surat National Highway number six in Nandurbar district in Maharashtra. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gadkari said that well-built roads reflect the progress of the nations as it paves way for faster and smoother transportation. He stated that his ministry aims at building best quality roads and promised that people will not see any potholes on these roads for the next fifty years. Mr Gadkari also informed that under the estimated two thousand crore project of four laning of Amravati-Surat National Highway number six entire road would be concretized.<br/><br/>The minister informed that estimated 40 thousand crore rupees work for development of roadways has already commenced in northern part of Maharashtra including Nasik, Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgoan districts. He added that to facilitate water resource management in the region the bridges will be constructed in such a way that it would serve as a weir-cum-causeway.<br/><br/>Mr. Gadkari further informed that the work of converting around 111 rivers in to a finely developed waterway is also being undertaken in various parts of the country.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, Mr. Gadkari also inaugurating the four laning of Dhule-Chalisgaon – Aurangabad national highway in Dhule district and took stock of the crores of rupees development projects in the region including the much in demand Dhule Indore railway line work.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gadkari has said that the work of Dhule -Indore Railway route would commence within the next six months. He said that he is aware about the public demand for the railway route since long time and stated that since BJP government came in power, the paper work and formalities of the said project proceeded further in greater speed and now railway Ministry has sanctioned around 5 crore for the said project while the Ministry of shipping has decided to sanctioned the further financial aid for the project.<br/><br/>Union minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre informed that the Centre has also sanctioned financial aid worth 15 thousand crore rupees for much awaited Manmad-Indore Railway line and main connecting roads from the region including Nagpur-Surat and Dhule Aurangabad highways.
