AICC General Secretary and MP, Rahul Gandhi has said that Congress led UPA Government in the Centre is committed for the equitable development of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. He added that an unprecedented chapter of development has started in the State during the UPA regime in the Centre.

Addressing the newly elected Panchayat representatives at Jammu on Tuesday, Rahul said that with the devolution of powers to Panchayats, the peoples’ participation in the process of governance would be ensured at the grass root level.

Earlier, addressing a public meeting at Rajouri, Rahul assured the people of Rajouri and Poonch that he will take up the issue of Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch Railway project with the Centre. Later, in the day, Rahul Gandhi also held meeting with the representatives of Youth Congress.
