The Cabinet committee on Economic Affairs has given its green signal for a special development scheme for 60 districts in nine states affected by Left Wing extremism. Giving details of the scheme, the Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that 25 crore rupees will be given to each of the district as block grant for the current fiscal for the scheme. Thirty crore rupees will be given for each of the district in the next financial year. The funds are for construction of roads, Panchayat Ghars, ration shops and water source schemes.
