The Centre has cleared eight hydro electric projects in the Indus basin. In reply to a question, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti &nbsp;Bishweswar &nbsp;Tudu said that out of the eight projects cleared, Seven are in Ladakh and one in Jammu &amp; Kashmir.&nbsp; He said, the centre has cleared seven projects with a capacity of 140 Megawatts at an estimated cost of 2072 crore rupees in Durbuk Shyok, Sankoo, Nimmu &nbsp;Chilling, Rongdo, Mangdum Sangra, Hunderman Kargil and Tamasha in Ladakh.&nbsp; All the hydroelectric projects in Ladakh are with no irrigation benefits. However, Ratan Nag project in Kishtwar district of J&amp;K with 10.50 MW at an estimated cost of over 315 crore rupees has irrigation benefits as well.<br />'' <br />'' He also said, thirty-seven major hydroelectric projects with a total capacity of 12763 MW, are under construction in the country in various states.<br />'' &nbsp;
