The Centre has approved an additional assistance of Rs 1,000 crore to 35 Left Wing Extremism-affected districts spread over 7 states. Of the 35 districts, 16 are in Jharkhand, 8 in Chhattisgarh, 6 in Bihar, 2 in Odisha and one each in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. An official release said, the Union Home Ministry has allocated around Rs 28 crore per district.
