The Centre has convened a meeting of Chief Ministers of Naxal-affected States on 14th of this month to discuss the strategy to deal with the Naxal menace effectively.<br/><br/>Official sources said, the Prime Minister, Dr, Manmohan Singh is likely to address the meeting convened by the Union Home Ministry. The meeting assumes significance as it comes close on the heels of Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram hinting to revisit the deployment of security forces to deal with the menace.<br/><br/>The Planning Commission is now finalising a package to address the developmental concerns of the Naxal-affected districts. Our Correspondent adds that recently 27 security personnel lost their lives in the Naxal attack in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. The CRPF has mounted a counter offensive against the Naxals killing some top ultras.
