Centre today called for development of tourist destinations and circuits through convergence of resources. The convergence has to be between various central ministries and the state governments. This was revealed by the union tourism minister Kumari Selja while addressing a meeting on the issue in New Delhi today. She said 5000 years of history and culture, flora and fauna is yet to be exploited to tap full tourist potential. She suggested to set up<br/>committees at national, state and local level to realise full potential of tourism in the country. The minister said poor infrastructure, lack of cleanliness and hygiene and poor connectivity are mainly responsible for low inflow of tourists . The participants welcomed the idea of convergence in tourism sector to give it a boost and called for massive investment to build infrastructure to put this important sector of economy on high growth path.<br/>
